Blog #12 Serial free-write

While listening to the Serial podcast it has been hard for me to determine if Adnan is guilty or not. Most evidence has made him look innocent, but there are a few unclear moments in Adnan's timeline that makes me wonder. For example Adnan was not able to recall what he was doing for a 30 minute time period the day of Hae's murder, and his phone was pinged by a cell tower near Lincoln Park where Hae was burred. Although the cell tower that pinged his phone also covers the area near Cathy's house were she, Jay, and Adnan all said he was. Other than those few discrepancy's Adnan looks and acts innocent. Adnan to this day has claim he did not murder Hae. In my mind if a person can maintain their belief that they are innocent it means they really didn't do it, and were falsely imprisoned. In my mind Adnan is innocent.

The justice system in mind has definitely failed Adnan. Not all of the evidence found was used during the investigation. A good example of this is the fingerprints and DNA evidence found at the scene and in Hae's car. The DNA and fingerprints would most certainly have proven Adnan either innocent or guilty. Also during trial not all of the possible witnesses were interviewed and questioned. I believe that not calling ever single witness is a big mistake by Adnan's lawyer. I believe one thing that could have been done differently in this case is how thoroughly detectives went through the case, and how they went about solving it. I believe that Adnan's case was on of the worst handled cases I have ever heard of.

I was not able to start Serial at the same time the class did, and have had to play catch up, but so far Serial has been a very interesting experience. It amazes me how we can listen to somebody investigate a closed case from over twenty years ago and get commentary from the officers and other people that were caught up in the case back in 1999. It is hard for me to decide whether or not Adnan is guilty because I have not heard all of the podcast, and no nothing about the case other than what I've learned in class. With that said, I do not believe Adnan is guilty because of his character and how he reacted to his breakup with Hae. After breaking up Adnan and Hae remained friends. Adnan also was friends with Don, Hae's new boy friend. I think that Jay either killed Hae or play a major roll in her murder because he was able to tell the police the location of her car. Blog #6 Political candidate blog

When choosing a candidate to vote for I look for someone who will represent my beliefs and stand by his word even under pressure. The perfect candidate is a person who will support small communities, outdoorsman, and will help prevent the spread of large cities. In my opinion they should promote mom and pop stores, and small home towns throughout the country, putting his countries needs before his. I also believe that I am not going to vote for a person who is egotistical or someone who is not part of the working class of America. I do not care if the candidate is a Democrat, Republican, or if they are just an independent party. I believe political parties are a big mistake. Political parties require you to agree with their beliefs, causing you to see things one sided. On top of that  members of your party can try and force their beliefs on you. Blog # 17 The downfall of Mark Spitz

The ending of Zone One really caught me of guard.  I didn't expect Mark Spitz to get infected by the plague. Nor did I expect the barricade around Zone one to fall. Mark was almost always cautious. Mark was assigned to patrol with Omega unit in Zone one. Mark and Omega unit were patrolling with Bravo unit who they met up with the day before when they became surrounded by Skels. Mark, in fear for his life ran off towards camp. While running Mark got trapped by the Skels. It shocked me that Mark was trapped and infected by the Skels just outside of the camp that was supposed to be impenetrable being destroyed by the Skels. The author decided to withhold information about the governing body being corrupted until about halfway through the book when Omega unit found out that the Lieutenant had died. I didn't find any cliff hangers at the end of any chapters throughout the book.
